Thingy 91 - nRF9160 SICA B0A, Revision 1 - Firmware

Version 1.2.7 seem to be the latest without "only for testing and development" for Revision 1 .

During the startup, I get

W: Enabling modem sleep notifications failed, error: 65536
W: Modem sleep notifications require nRF9160 modem >= v1.3.0

For me this looks like, that PSM is either not reported, or the Things is "only for testing and development".

Are there issues for PSM with the Revision 1?

Are there plans, to provide also software updates (without that "only for ...") for the Revision 1?

Hello. For example AT commands AT%XMODEMSLEEP (modem sleep notifications) and AT%XT3412 (periodic TAU notifications) are supported by MFW 1.3.x series and its feature set. These commands are not part of "older" MFW 1.2.x series.

There are no HW limitations with PSM and Revision 1.

It is good to be aware of MFW and NCS compatibility matrix, introduced here: infocenter.nordicsemi.com/.../nrf9160_modem_fw.html

Does Nordic plan to support the nRF9160 HW Revision 1 in future modem firmware updates, or not?

The new version 1.3.0 or 1.3.1 are both marked  with ""only for testing and development", if HW Revision 1 is in use.

(With no "production" updates, my feeling is, that the revision 1 parts could not be longer used.)
