how to use spi for nrf52840 in nrf9160 dk board

Hello,

I have the nrf52840 dongle but as you can't debug the code in the nrf52840 dongle, I want to use the nrf52840 in the nrf9160 dk module.

I'm a beginner in this. I want to configure the SPI communication using nrf52840 and send a byte of data over bluetooth LE. How can I configure the SPI pins for nrf52840 module in the nrf9160 DK board. 

Kindly help me to solve this issue.

Hi,

As far as I am aware, none of the nrf52840 pins are connected to any of the connectors on the nrf9160dk, so what you are asking for there is not easily achievable.

But I believe it should be possible to use the debugger on the nrf9160dk to debug the dongle. I will look into it, and get back to you when I know more.

So it turns out that while debugging on the dongle is possible, there are some pitfalls which must be avoided to not damage the board.

It is not something I would recommend that a beginner attempts. I would instead recommend acquiring a full-sized nrf52840 DK.
