Hi Dennis,
I did not see any prerequisite for java on the Segger J-Link Product page.
I also test the Programmer app of nRF Connect Desktop after uninstalling Java runtime on my Windows PC, and I do not have problem programming firmware to the DK board.
Can you provide more information about the issue you have encountered? It might be caused by other reasons.
Best regards,
Charlie
Thanks for your response.
FIrsrt error is Failed to get the library versions: JLINKARM_DKK_COULD_NOT_BE_OPENED
I am on a Apple MacBookPro, M1 processor and it does not come with java installed.
When I started j-link it reports
The operation couldn't be completed. Unable to locate Java Runtime .
Please visit http://www.java.comfor information on installing Java
Hi Dennis,
I test the Programmer app of nRF Connect Desktop after uninstalling Java runtime on a Mac Air(M1). I can program DK board without any issue. This means J-Link driver should work properly without Java runtime.
How did you start J-Link?
Which step did the first error appear in?
Best regards,
Charlie
Sorry I though the prerequisites were known I would have provided a better case description.
When I start nRF Connect for Desktop v3.9.3, then click on RSSI viewer the log window at the bottom reports in red:
Failed to get the Library versions: : JLINKARM_DKK_COULD_NOT_BE_OPENED (Origin Failed to get module versions"
