nrf connect unable to program dongle PCA10059

Goodday, 

For some reason my nrf Connect Programmer stopped working after doing the latest updates. To test I took a brand new dongle, Programmer picks it up but does not want to load the default PCA10059 hex file. 

Only the write function shows up with the error as attached

Is there something that changed?

Hi,

It looks like you are trying to program a bootloader? This will not work, and should not work with any version. This is because the bootloader that the dongle ships with prevents any upgrades from overwriting the bootloader or MBR unless they are properly signed with a key only Nordic has. If you program a SoftDevice or application (or anything else not overlapping with the existing bootloader or MBR), it should work as expected.
