NRF9160 Connection to GCP via MQTT Gateway

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to avoid JWT for the NRF9160 by establishing connection between an MQTT Bridge to Google Cloud. Our goal is to establish 24/7 connection/highest amount of uptime to Google Cloud but with JWT, we limit ourselves to the 24 hours unless we regenerate the tokens again. I was wondering if you can give an insight on whether this is a viable option both cost and setup wise because currently the only solution I can find is only through JWT and older Nordic Google IoT samples.

Cheers,

Tyson

  • Hi,

I have tried using the Simple MQTT Sample but I think it doesn't allow GCP (Google IoT Core) communication because the device needs to be authenticated?

Yes! That is what I am looking for regarding Bridging nRF Cloud to GCP, but is it fully supported? On the guide it recommends that AWS is to be used.

    Cheers,
