nRF52810 SoC rev. 2 nRF5 SDK vs nRF Connect SDK compatibility

nRF52810 SDKs and SoftDevices compatibility matrix does not list nRF52810 SoC revision 2 in the list of compatible SoC revisions for nRF5 SDK. Revision 2 is listed only in nRF Connect SDK compatibility table.

I am having difficulties running basic BLE beacon samples from nRF5 SDK v17.1 on nRF52810 rev. 2 hardware, therefore I am wondering whether this revision is, in fact, incompatible with nRF5 SDK and I must port the application to nRF Connect SDK?

Samples (any my application) do run without any problem on nRF52-DK in emulated mode and I did recompile them for nRF52810 hardware according to "Developing for nRF52810" document instructions.

Should I keep digging further as to why I cannot run anything on real hardware rev. 2 or is this revision really unsupported in "classic" nRF5 SDK?

  • Hi,

The table has not been updated since the release of nRF5 SDK v17.1.0, at which point the nRF52810 Rev. 2 was not yet released. It is supported by nRF5 SDK. We will update the table.

Regarding the issue, what is the error log? Please also check with the instruction in the Transferring the project to nRF52810 hardware section.

Is it the custom board? If so, we can help review the schematic if you want. Of course, we can make this case private if you want to only share it with Nordic.

    Regards,
    Amanda

  • Hi,

thank you very much for your prompt reply!

Knowing that rev.2 is supported by nRF5 SDK is enough for now and I will dig deeper to find what the reason for failure may be. Unfortunately, the board is not of my design - it is a ready-made PCB by Ebyte and no schematics have been published for this particular product. If I have any further questions, I will open a new ticket.

    Best regards,
    Andrej
