PPK2 scope of usage

Hi,

Can we use the PPK2 kit for measuring current consumption in any other reference design board from a different

vendor which is not same as DA. The other vendor does provide probe point (GND, POSITIVE, and NEGATIVE) to connect

to PPK2 kit

Indeed, the PPK2 is able to measure current on any external board (custom designs, nRF52 DKs, you name it) that is inside its specifications (It measures current from 500nA to 1A), and can give a detailed picture of the current profile for the user application.

Hi Simon,

Im able to use PPK2 kit connected to another development board and measure current consumption.

When idle, it's reposrting few micro amps. 

When I run an application, it always shows 800 micro amps, irrespective of the application running.

For compute simpler decoder it shows 800 micro amps, and compute intensive encoder also it shows 800

micro amps.

Could you help here.

Have you read and followed the PPK2 user guide and made sure you have connected the board you are measuring on correctly? Can you show me a snippet of the power profiler trace where you see the 800µA and maybe how your device is connected to your development kit? What development board specifically is it connected to?

Hi Simon,

Yes, i've followed the instructions manual. idle state is reporting less than 10 microamps.

application usage shows around 800 microamps always.

Unfortunately I don't see an attached screenshot, so it doesn't seem like it was uploaded correctly. Did you use the Insert > Image/Video/File button in the reply box? Please upload both a screenshot of the power profiler app and how it is connected to your board.
