LTE: never reach green

Hi 2022-02-12T18_55_37.321Z-log.txt,

I have the nordic  nRF9160 DK and the Nordic Thingy:91.  I am trying with the Asset  Tracking application  version : nrf9160dk_fw_2021-12-15_cfedfdfa, with the last modem firmware.  I am not able to get the LTE connected.  I tested the sim card in my cellular phone and that work fine indicating the LTE Band 28 I live in Chile.  The nRF9160 LTE never reach the green status.

I attached the logfile.

My plant is develop an application in Thyngy:91 using the included GPS.

Hi Juan,

You need a SIM card that specially supports LTE-M/NB-IoT network.  SIM used by mobile phones normally does not have support on Cellular IoT networks.

The Thingy91 you bought should have an iBasis SIM card, but iBasis IoT NETWORK COVERAGE page shows they do not have coverage in Chile, so you need to check with local celluar network operater if they have support on LTE-M/NB-IoT and order SIM card from them if possible.
