VSCode Feature Parity with Segger

Hi,

The VSCode extension is great, far more convenient env than Segger. THe only thing i find myself doing is create a NCS project in Segger with a custom board to create the build directory, then opening that folder in VSCode to pick up that build directory as i dont seem to be able to use a custom board in a folder outside the NCS tree. Is that possible?

Also is it possible to view the disassembly like in Segger?

Also, I need to reconnect RTT terminal each debug session. Is it possible to have it persist like in segger?

Hi Tom,

I am sorry but I don't understand what your query is exactly, but you can create an application for a custom board in VS Code.

And you can see the disassembly of the generated bild files, the files in your folder etc in the options "source files, input files, output files" on the left side.

Is this what you asked? Or close to it?

Thanks for the reply. How can I pull a custom board in that I've already created.

I open the folder with the top CMakelists file, and in there i have a "boards" folder, and I'd like to pick it up from there.

In the Dissassmbly can i jump to a given line? When i get an expcetion form Zephyr in segger i was able to jump to a line.

Lastly is there a way to have the RTT terminal stay connected? it seems to disconnect after each debug session.

In order to use an already created custom board, you could try taking a look at this.

Do you wish to see the disassembly of the code?

As for RTT terminal, it's not possible to keep it open. Maybe it might be a feature for the future, but not as of now.
