The usage of Enable pin of nRF9160

Hi Nordic，

We have design a evaluate board based on nRF9160. There is another MCU on the board, we want to control the Enable mode of nRF9160, so we connect the Enable pin of nRF9160 to a GPIO of the MCU via a 220Ω resistor.

We found that when we pull down the Enable pin, the NRF9160 continue to work normally, it neither stop printing the log nor stop RF working.

I have search a post, does that mean just pull down the Enable pin will not disable the sip, we will also need to shut down the power? I am just puzzled about it.

Hello, 

Have a look at the Enable chapter of the nRF9160 Hardware Design Guidelines. This describes: logic high (> 0.8 x VDD1) enables nRF9160 and logic low (< 0.4 V) disables nRF9160.

But we test that 9160 continue to work with Enable pin pull to low.

yes, that is a strange behavior. What revision of the nRF9160 are you using, and with what modem fw? Have you had a schematic review of the board?
