Smallest wireless comunication possible

Working on a project where I need some sort of wireless communication. The device is located inside a metal enclosure, so IR is not an option. Its only goiong to trigger a switch to a LED, but it needs to be as tiny as possible. Someone has any recomendation about this? im thinking RF, but Bluetooth can also be an option. It only need a distance of some meters. 1-10 meter.

Unless you have an external antenna, RF is also not an option in this case.

So then i have to go for some other technology i suppose?

If the device is entirely enclosed in metal then no RF signal will enter or exit the enclosure, it's a faraday cage.
