nRF52840 with BMI270 over I2C

Hi all

I used to use bmi160 for my application with nRF52833 and I am upgrading to bmi270 with nRF52840. 

I am struggling to make work the functionalities I used to have with bmi160. According to Bosch, bmi270 is the successor of bmi160 and all the functionalities of bmi160 can be used with bmi270. I am using some examples from GitHub https://github.com/BoschSensortec/BMI270-Sensor-API/tree/master/bmi270_legacy_examples but it hardly working. 

I am wondering if anyone has got some experience with bmi270 + Nordic MCU and went through the migration from bmi160.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would likely have connected a logic analyzer to sniff the I2C communication with bmi160 vs. bmi270 for comparison.

If you were to move to the nRF Connect SDK you can find there are examples supporting BMI270:
