Using nrfutil to do DFU for a nRF Connect SDK device

Hi,

I have a nrf5340 device which is built with nrf Connect SDK 1.6.

I can successfully DFU over ble by nRF Connect mobile app.

Right now, I am trying to do DFU from my PC with nrfutil.

My question is that does nrfutil support DFU over BLE to a nRF Connect SDK version 1.6 device?

Hi Jason

For doing DFU over serial in the nRF Connect SDK, I recommend using the MCUmgr tool.
See the SMP Server sample for a good example on how to use this.

I should mention that the MCUmgr only runs for Mac or Linux at this time.

Thanks for your recommendation.
Just wonder does nrfutil works for doing DFU over BLE in the nRF Connect SDK, since our production process are mainly on Windows OS.

From the SMP Server Sample:

"The mcumgr command-line tool only works with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) on Linux and macOS. On Windows there is no support for Device Firmware Upgrade over BLE yet."
