nRF52840-DK Not Showing Up in VS Code

I have a new nRF52840-DK connected to a Mac (M1 MacBook Air, Monterey 12.2.1).  The nRF Connect Programmer sees the device (first screenshot below) and the JLINK disk mounts on the Mac.  I have built the blinky app in VS Code and would like to test it, but the board isn't showing up in VS Code (second screenshot).  AFAIK, I have all of the Nordic extensions loaded in VS Code.  Do you have any guidance?

I need a few information. Does this happen only with the nRF52840DK? Could you also tell me your VS Code version?

I also inserted an nRF52840 Dongle and it has the same characteristics.  It shows up in the Nordic Programmer tool, but not in VS Code.  I'm using v1.65.0 of VS Code.  Does anything come to mind?

Hi John,

A  Dongle cannot be found on VS Code as it supports only J-Link devices like a DK and you will have to use the Programmer app or connect a DK or J-Link programmer to your dongle to program it. It would be helpful if you could check with some other DKs.

Could you also tell me your J-Link Commander version and also your nrfjprog version?

I ran jlink command in terminal.  It asked me to install Java.  How do I get going without installing Java?

HI John,

Let's just try checking if nrfjprog can access your DK. Try running nrfjprog --ids from the command line. This shows the ID of all connected devices. Is your DK listed there?
