nRF5340 Range in Real time

Hi,

1. What's the max range achieved with BL5340 (With PCB Trace antenna) in indoors and Outdoors when advertising and connected mode? (With 1M,2M and Coded PHY(125Kbps, 500Kbp data rate))
2. Is BL5340 max Tx Power is upto 10dBm? Can we use this for Long Ranges? with Coded PHY we can achieve this? Or We need to have power amplified variant (BL5340PA with nRF5340 + nRF21540)?

Hi there,

It's not possible to give you any numbers on the range as it depends on several external factors. The nRF5340 supports long range, but has a maximum TX power of +3dB, which is why we sometimes suggest using it with our nRF21540 FEM.

Agree on that. Any results as you tested indoors on range?  Tx power relates to the range that data transmits? Can we achieve Long Range with max Tx power of +3dBm?

Unfortuanly we have not performed such tests. 

Yes, it supports Coded, see this example.
