Non secure build gives print during build "Changed board to secure nrf9160dk_nrf9160 (NOT NS)"

Setup -

1. Sample used - nrf/samples/nrf9160/lte_ble_gateway

2. Board used to build - nrf9160dk_nrf9160_ns

3. NCS version 1.9.1

Steps performed -

1. Built the code with command - "west build -p auto -b nrf9160dk_nrf9160_ns"

Issue observed -

1. During the build log, this line is seen - "Changed board to secure nrf9160dk_nrf9160 (NOT NS)"

2. Additional question, could there be any explanation for this partition map generated for the same sample -

Hi,

 

The modem inside the nRF9160 requires you do interface it in non-secure mode.

Therefore, when you configure a board as non-secure, the build system also flashes a secure side image (spm in this case)

This is the "partition manager" which is invoked on multi-image builds, which partitions your flash based on which projects that you include in your overall build:
