AoA and CTE

From the DF spec, we know that the connectionless AoA puts the CTE signal on the periodic synchronous adv, why, and what is the benefit. Is it possible to send CTE in extended adv？

It is mandated by the Bluetooth spec to only attach the CTE to periodic advertising packets or to packets in connected mode. Bluetooth spec does not support attaching CTE to extended advertising.

The benefit is Bluetooth compliance so you can certify the product as a Bluetooth 5.1 design.

thanks for your reply. maybe,i want to know that the benefit of AoA or IQ sampling， Is it possible extended advertising with CTE instead of periodic advertising？

Technically it is possible to append the CTE to all the non-coded PHY packets sent by the radio, it will just not be possible to qualify such a solution. We will not provide SW that does this with the Bluetooth controller for the reason you can't qualify the solution.
