52833 AND 52840 PIN COMPATIBILITY

Whilst I recognise some of the NC pins on the nRF52833 are IO pins on the 52840, but I also noticed apin mapping difference on a common port...52833 A16 is P1.05 and whilst on 52840 A16 is P1.13.

I noticed in another chat that they are code compatible as long as you don't use the NC pins, this obviously shows they aren't.

I haven't yet gone through all the other pins, so there maybe more.

So I am just checking is datasheet wrong or is the compatibility statement wrong ?

I have continued working through the pinout of the 52840, and have found more IO differences. I am just confirming this is he case and I am not working with an old dataseet ? The reason I am asking is that an Nordic ENhineer has said they were code  compatible  - but thats not true if those IO were used. Obviously the package is compatible and only needs code to be adapted with reference to those specific IO pins

If you refer to the only PS at https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/struct_nrf52/struct/nrf52840.html and https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/struct_nrf52/struct/nrf52833.html you will always have the latest version.

The two devices have different memory size so you must as least build the code again for the other device. There are differences in the GPIO mapping as well, so make sure you change that as well.

You can use the nRF52833 on the nRF52840 layout if you don't use the NC pins and REG0 in DCDC mode.
