nrf52840, supplying VBUS with 5V, Why am I getting 4.4V on VDD?

Hi,

I am supplying my nrf52840 with5V on VBUS. I know that this does not actually provide the board with power, only the USB interface.

Based on the documentation, I understand that I need to supply VDDH with 5v in order to get a 3.3v output on VDD to use for external components.

However in my current setup, I am just providing 5v to VBUS and for some reason, I am reading 4.4V on VDD.

How does this happen and how can I get a 3.3v supply from the VDD pin.
