nRF52840 Dongle not going in Boot Mode after Power Profiler Installed

Hi All,

I wanted to look at the power profile for my nRF52840 dongle, I installed nRF connect and installed the Power Profiler. But as I want to the option to connect the dongle with this app, it asked my to programm the dongle first. I clicked on 'YES' and it started programming the dongle. After the dongle was programmed I unpluigged it and plugged it again.

Since then, the dongle is not detected by my PC. I also pressed the side button to move it to bootloader mode where a RED led blinks but that is also not working. Just to mention here, the dongle was working properly and I uploaded many test hex files in the dongle to test it succesfuly. Its all that after connecting to the power profiler it is not working any more.

Please help me in this regard.

  • Hi,

Try holding the bootloader button in while plugging the dongle into your computer, instead of pressing it when it is already plugged in. This should make it go into bootloader mode again.

The Power Profiler firmware is meant for the PPK and PPK2, and should not be programmed on the dongle.

    Best regards,

    Marte
