Which terminal connection do I use for PuTTY connections

Hi,

I have been able to program my NRF 52840DK with the following program: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/samples/bluetooth/central_uart/README.html

However, I have been having issues connecting with PuTTy to read terminal messages from the device. I know that the DK uses COM port 9 and 10 by checking device manager but I am wondering if it matters which COM port I am connecting to? 

Otherwise I have been following the following tutorial with no results: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/gs_testing.html#putty

Hi,

The Central UART sample use UART for the NUS client, so logging is over RTT instead of UART. To view logs follow the procedure described here: Connecting using RTT.

Thanks for the reply. From RTT can I send messages to peripheral devices that are connected to my central device?

Hi,

It seems like I misunderstood your issue in my original reply. For sending messages you should connect using UART console. However, nRF52840 DK should only have one COM port, so either the other COM port is for another device or your device is not a nRF52840 DK.
