nRF52833 DK external antenna

Hi

I am currently trying to get the antenna switching working on the nRF52833 DK

I have an SPDT RF swtich is this pe42423

VDD -> VDD

LS -> P0.26

CTRL -> GND

GND -> GND

J1 RFC -> J1 ANT

I would like to ask a few questions

1. will the included PCB antenna be switched off automatically when plugging in an external antenna？

2. How should I detect that I have sent and received signals through the external antenna？

1. Yes. when you insert the SWF connector, you will break the connection to the PCB antenna and route the signal to the cable. 

2. If you have access to a spectrum analyzer, you can measure the TX power on the antenna port. Else, you will see that the range drops if you disconnect the antenna.

But measuring distance doesn't improve. Maybe I should replace my antenna?

I would like to know what else I can do to extend the reception distance
