Updating to BLE 5

Hello,

Right now our application developed using s140_nrf52_6.0.0_softdevice, SDK 15.0.0 for NRF52840 chip.

Need help on migrating to BLE 5.

1. Which SDK & soft device to be used. Would be great if the compatibility matrix link shred.
2. Memory foot print for the supported sdk and soft device.

Could you let me know exactly which feature of Bluetooth 5.0 that you want to have ?

S140 v6.0.0 already supported many Bluetooth 5.0 features for example 2Mbps , CODED PHY or extended advertising.

Hi,

There isn't much changed in the latest S140 v7.x vs the S140 v6.0.0 with regard the BLE 5 features.

You can have a look at the release note .pdf file included in S140 v7.x to find the added feature compare to S140 v6.0.0 to know which feature is not supported.

2)Data rate
3)power consumption
4)range
5)Extended Advertisements
6)Periodic Advertisements

Please let us know if these are supported in s140_nrf52_6.0.0_softdevice, SDK 15.0.0

I have no idea what you meant by

4)range

You need to be more specific on the features that you are looking for. For example speed, what speed ? 

In the list you provided , only point 6 is not supported. It's not supported in all softdevice including the latest one. 

But it's supported in nRF Connect SDK which is our new SDK.
