nRF52832 - antenna finetuning via software

Hi,

I am using a ISP3010 SiP which inludes a nrf52832, a DW1000 and the corresponding antennas (built-in antenna).

I have a custom board (board1) as reference, where the RF-performance, especially the range of BLE and UWB, is pretty good.

Now I have a second custom board (board 2, exactly the same as board 1) which is surrounded by a potting compound.

The RF-Performance/range of board 2 is much worse than board 1. I know that the potting compound causes a shift in the RF-frequency.

Because I am not able to change the hardware anymore, I wanted to ask if there is any possibility to "tune" the antenna by software?

Thanks and kind regards

  • Hi,

sorry, there is no way to "tune" the antenna without changing the HW.

This is the disadvantage with modules then you wont get to tune the antenna with the enclosure/housing that we recommend that you do.

    Best regards,
