Validation of nRF Connect for mobile

Hi all,

Is anyone aware of any formal documentation or test cases available that demonstrate a validation of nRF Connect for mobile to show that it is reporting the correct RSSI level from the mobile OS?

We would like to use the nRF Connect for mobile to confirm that a third party app is reporting the correct RSSI level from iOS or Android OS, but we would need to know that nRF Connect for mobile was validated itself.

Unfortunately we do not have any tests or documentation on this.

However, note that there are several figures you can get using the app. The RSSI graph on the main screen shows the average RSSI values for last 500ms, it samples every 500ms for all devices, no matter their adv interval. So the app might be of great help to you in this situation, but we have not performed any tests on this.

Then how can we be sure the app is giving us a valid report of the RSSI if there’s no documentation to show Nordic tested it?

Well the app wasn't designed for formal testing and validation, but it has automated test features.

It depends on how formal your testing needs to be.
