error reading from serial device

Hey guys,

I have recently been using the nrf 52840 dongle to connect to a sensor and gather data from it. So far I have been able to successfully connect to the device and I am now working on trying to discover the services on the device. However whenever the device finds the GATT service I get a error on the PuTTy serial terminal saying error reading from serial device.

Here is an example of what its saying.

I don't run into this error; however, when I search for the wrong service UUID it is only happening when I use the correct one. I tried looking at the prj.conf files and I can't figure out what the issue is

Hi,

Most likely the Dongle is asserting for some reason. Depending on the program, the dongle will reset when asserting which will cause the PuTTY program to also assert. You should debug your application and check whether it asserts.

Thanks Jared! How would I prevent the application from resetting when it asserts.

Hi,

Is CONFIG_ASSERT or CONFIG_RESET_ON_FATAL_ERROR enabled in your config/overlay file?

Could you toggle a GPIO in the start of the program and use it to verify whether the program actually asserts or not.
