nRFgo 64 bit v1.19

Since it appears that version 1.20 is broken and useless, does anyone know where to get an earlier version for 64-bit machines? A co-worker has 1.17 for 32-bit but it refuses to install on a 64-bit machine.

My statement that v1.20 is broken is based on getting the "Invalid parameter error" when trying to program an nRF51422 based board with our application code. The chip can be erased and the S210 softdevice programmed and verified but even old versions of the application that have been programmed before cannot be programmed now.

What changed? In my case I needed to switch from 32-bit Windows 7 Pro to 64-bit to allow for the use of more memory for an unrelated application. This required me to reformat the hard drive and reload all applications, including the Nordic tools.

I did find a copy of 1.19.0 installer MSI on the web but unless someone can authenticate the MD5 checksum I'm a little concerned about using it...

I'm currently five hours into a five minute task... :(

  • Found it. It's counter-intuitive but:

Go to a page that lists nRFgo Studio Win64 (such as www.nordicsemi.com/.../nRF51422

Do NOT click on the nRFgo Studio link. If you do you will get the 1.20.0 version that you do not want.

Do click on the link labeled 1.20.0 (even though you do not want v1.20). Instead of downloading the software it will take you to a page listing the various versions. From here you can click on the Download link next to the version you want.
