nrf9160-SIBA not present in VS Code Extension

I'm currently trying to make a new board definition for our PCB, which by mistake has been fitted with an nrf9160-SIBA rather than a SICA. When trying to make a new board in vscode the option for the SIBA isn't there. Just wondering if it's supported at all?

Hello, 

The VS Code extension inherits the lists of supported SoC from Zephyr. nRF9160 SICA is the only SoC listed here e.g. zephyr\soc\arm\nordic_nrf\nrf91\Kconfig.defconfig.nrf9160_SICA

Under ordering information in the nRF9160 PS, you will find the different version listed. The SIBA offers NB-IoT only, which means it does not support LTE-M and GPS.

Yes I'm aware of the differences. I am asking if there is a way to add support for this in Zephyr. Is this something I should do i.e. make a PR on their repo? Or should I be fine building code for the SIBA seeing as it has a more limited feature set?

You should be fine building your board for the SICA. Just make sure that you are not trying to enable GNSS or LTE-M. 

If you are not happy with that solution, you can add a PR in the Zephyr repo to add SIBA.
