Using pre-qualified antennas

I am considering using the nRF51822 for an upcoming project for a client. It is a simple BLE peripheral, so I would use the S110 SoftDevice for the stack. I am looking at the 4 different antennas listed under "3rd Party Matching Baluns" for the nRF51. Are all 4 of these antenna considered "pre-qualified"? If I use one of these, do I still need to get my end-product qualified for FCC and Bluetooth Compliance? Are there certain product design decisions that can be made now to simplify any needed compliance testing for the product later? Thanks...

  • Yes you would still need to apply for certifications. They apply to the whole integrated application. The only way to bypass this is using a pre-qualified modules.

  • A pre-qualified module is probably what you need, at least in regards to simplicity and development time. You can find information about and a list of pre-qualified modules on our website.
