Battery powered Friend nodes in BLE mesh

Hi,

can the Friend node be battery powered?

How do I calculate the battery requirements for a Friend node?

I will be using LPN too..

Hi,

The Friend node is responsible for buffering packets for the low power node, and needs to stay in receive mode most of the time to receive packets for the LPN.

Keeping the radio in RX mode will consume quite high current, so it is not vary feasible to run the friend node on battery power.
