Licence questions

Hello,

I've noticed that it is quite hard to set up an Eclipse development environment and I want to try to make a package of everything that is needed for developing with my mesh.

Would it be possible to distribute the nRF tools and other parts of the sdk in a zip file that contains Eclipse, Arm GCC build tools and other stuff? Or is it possible to write an installer that downloads them directly from the nordic site?

Thanks

  • Hi Marius,

    Sorry for late response.

Unfortunately, according to the SDK's license, redistributing the SDK is not allowed. We are working on improving the license but that what it is for now.

Your idea of using an installer to download the SDK from our website would be a good idea. I don't think you would violate the license by doing that. As long as you make the customer aware and accept our SDK's license, (maybe with a popup) I think it should be fine.
