Is Bluetooth®︎ Low Energy Power Control (LEPC) Feature supported for any Nordic SoftDevices?

Hi, I see there are similar and narrow questions for specific chipsets: nrf5340 and nRF5240

Does the SoftDevice Controller support the Bluetooth 5.2 LE Power Control Feature on the nRF5340?

 Bluetooth 5.2 support for nrf52840

Does this mean that Bluetooth LE Power Control (LEPC) feature is not at all supported by any of the Nordic chipsets? I am particularly curious about nRF52832 with the latest SoftDevice?

It would be great to have this power control feature to overcome the problems of tiny IoT devices running on tiny batteries in a non-audio use-case from an environmental and sustainability point of view.

Thanks

  • Hello,

There are no technical limitations with regards to LEPC in both nrf52840 and nrf5340 devices, but we don't have any Bluetooth stacks that implement this feature as of now. There are plans to add LEPC support to NRF Connect SDK, but we do not have a public schedule for this. Kindly contact your Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for more details.

    Best Regards,
