Sniffing a connection very unreliable with nrf52840 dongle

I am using the nRF52840 dongle with the nrf sniffer 4.1 firmware running on it, using Wireshark to read out its results.

This works fine for advertisement packets, but once I try to follow a device in a connection, this works very unreliably. 

At first it didn't work at all, until I read the advice to plug the dongle into a usb hub, which solved the problem for a very short time, during which I was capable of sniffing a connection for like 3 times.

When I came back to it an hour later, it no longer seemed to work, or at least not at all reliably.

Where is this Dongle located physically in compared to the advertising device? It's recommended to have the sniffer between the advertiser and the central you're using, and it should work fine with a Dongle as long as it's reasonably close to the advertiser. Also, if the Dongle is in a USB port next to a USB 3.0 device that will affect the antenna performance due to some interference coming from USB 3.0 devices messing with the 2.4GHz band.
