How to trial the nrf-connect.debugging.backend?

I'm interested in seeing what the NRF debug adapter does, using Jlink

I can't get it selected and the documentation is not very helpful on how to set it up.

What do we use for the "nrf-connect.debugging.backend"? do we need to download another extension?

I haven't downloaded the MIEngine?, as the link above implies its included?

Here is my settings.json file in VS code.
