USB on Thingy:91

Hi,

I was working with my Thingy:91 all worked fine. Wanted to upgrade to latest firmware and somehow in this process the USB interface stopped working. I switched to use my nRF9160 for programming the Thingy:91 via JTAG cable. I have set SW2 to nRF52 on the Thingy:91 and uploaded Connectivity Bridge firmware - process success. Changing SW2 to nRF91 upload of modem firmware and asset tracker also finishes successful. The Thingy:91 connects to nRF cloud, BUT USB interface Thingy:91 is still dead.

I use only the Nordic Programmer (v3.0.3).

Now the USB has worked few days ago, tried with different cable (but USB port/cable works fine with nRF9160). I looked in Device Manager Win10 during connection of Thingy:91, but nothing shows up. Any idea how I can continue troubleshoot?

Thanks,

/Laurits

This is really strange - it worked?!

Ok, nice! I’m glad to hear that it resolved your issue :-)

As you suggested I build the latest version of the Connectivity Bridge firmware, but I am surprised the pre-build hex files I downloaded did not work.

I have just flashed the latest pre-complied Connectivity bridge firmware image to my Thingy:91, and everything works as expected. However, my Thingy is of revision 1.4.0. It shouldn’t matter in this case, but anyway.

Which folder in the firmware package did you choose the Connectivity bridge from? Since I’m using the nRF9160 DK as external debug probe to flash my Thingy:91, I selected the image ../img_app_bl/ thingy91_nrf52_connectivity_bridge_2022-06-02_880c82db.hex.
