Power consumption test standards and tolerance ranges for nRF52832 chips

Dear Nordic,

We have developed a product based on nRF52832 with DCDC regulator and no external crystal. The radio transmit power is 4dBm and the advertising interval time is 5000mS. The power consumption of this product is 8uA, but the other batch is 10.5uA, there is a 1-3uA difference in power consumption.

  1. the hardware status of the product is the same, but the chip was purchased at different times. is this difference in power consumption caused by the different production batches of the chip?
  2. What is your power consumption test standard for this chip and what is the tolerance range?

It'd be really great to get some help with this, thanks.

There should be no difference with each batch to impact the power consumption, you can reach out to your Disty to confirm whether the chip is with real Nordic authorized chipset, we see some re-use chip in China. Please reach out to me if you have further question, I am Nordic sales contact for Hubei Region. Leon Wu ([email protected]).

What is your power consumption test standard for this chip and what is the tolerance range?

You can use our online PPK to check the power consumption feature:  Online Power Profiler for Bluetooth LE

    Thanks!

    Leon
