create new application using workspace type fail download

I try to create new application using worspace type but fail , if I use freestanding type is OK. I already downlad and install SDK 2.0 . What happen? Could someone help me ? Thanks

Thank you to explain the different and  the same part between freestanding and workspace type. Why I want to use workspace,because in Thread and Mater example , too many complier and Link error when I create a freestanding project. Almost one month ago, I create  workspace  type project is OK , but right now It cann't work. So I think workspace type project is better than freestanding type project.Could you help me to resolve the workspace type project problem? Thanks

Hi James,

This is a known issue and the problem is because the west manifest has the wrong indentation. We have not yet released a fix for this but there is a workaround for the time being. You can downgrade to the previous version, create the workspace application and then upgrade back again. You can refer to this page to change the extension version. You can also alternatively develop an app by manually following the SDK documentation, but this is quite complicated and hectic.
