Minimum feasible quiescent current for nRF9160 B1A

Taking some measurements on a (very) bare bones update to the nRF9160 Feather and I'm getting around 13uA idle. I know the T91 is about 10uA at it's minimum but in what mode? (active sleep?)

I'm running MFW 1.3.2. I do have a SIM loaded. (Doesn't seem to make a difference which is one less thing to worry about!)

I feel like I'm missing something here. Any insights on anything I may have overlooked is appreciated.

    I know the T91 is about 10uA at it's minimum but in what mode? (active sleep?)

    Here is the quote I could find regarding the 10uA current draw on the Thingy:91:

    "It is important to shut down uart and leds to save power. The low power overlay on asset tracker v2 does that. If I recall correctly the PSM current on the entire thingy is around 40 uA in that state. If you also disable the accelerometer you can get down to around 10 uA in PSM. (currents from the battery, not only nrf9160)"

    I do have a SIM loaded. (Doesn't seem to make a difference which is one less thing to worry about!)

    The SIM card is not powered by the modem unless you activate the LTE stack (or tell the modem explicitly to initialize the SIM with AT+CFUN=41).

    The nRF9160 by itself should draw around 3uA in idle.

    Have you checked that there isn't some current going through any of the peripherals/sensors?

    Do you have a debugger connected to the chip? It can keep the debug port open, which will also consume some power. You should also look at any child images, and make sure they don't enable some peripheral which isn't powered off afterwards.

    I removed all peripherals and anything that could draw current to see how low it could go with nothing connected essentially.

    Do you have a debugger connected to the chip? It can keep the debug port open, which will also consume some power. You should also look at any child images, and make sure they don't enable some peripheral which isn't powered off afterwards.

    No debugger connected. The only thing in the child images that could affect current were the LED and button. Serial gets de-initialized at app runtime.

    The nRF9160 by itself should draw around 3uA in idle.

    Out of what pins though? As I mentioned earlier. I saw 3uA out of the VDD pins but when VDD_IO was added it jumped up on the DK. Seems like ~10uA is the actual functional minimum. Unless there's a spec for that VDD_IO pin that I missed.
