nRF52840-QIAA Date Code

Hi,

I've managed to find a franchised source of nRF52840-QIAA-R processors at low volume and I'm advised they have a date code of 19+.

Is there anything that I should be aware of if choosing this source for my prototype PCBs?  I know that some revisions of the silicon have negated the need for some external decoupling caps on the PCB, but I can handle that in my design.

As I'm sure you know, Mouser, Digikey etc do not have any stock therefore I am required to use alternative sources for these processors.

Hi Simon,

Using that should not be a problem. Any nRF52840 variant that has been in mass production can be used with the latest tools and SW components (that means revision 1 and newer, but not engineering samples).

You should be aware that the latest revision has an improved access port protection mechanism, and in order to remain compatible with that in case you use these at a later point you should base your firmware development on an update SDK. See IN-141 for details about this.
