Power Profiler Kit II / Amperemeter measurement on DUT low side?

I am trying to use the PPK2 for measuring current consumption on a device powered by 24VDC by connecting PPK2 on the low side of the DUT towards the power supply - but fail to get sensible readings (continuous microamp noise only).

Is it not possible to use PPK2 as amperemeter on low side of DUT?

It's not possible to use the PPK2 on the low side, it must be on the high side but that won't work here are the maximum voltage is 5 V. The PKK2 is not a normal ampmeter
