code is not supposed to be compiled when neither power nor clock is enabled

Hi. I am trying to use Free RTOS in my code and from the example blinky free rtos I am recreating the code. I have added the path and library files. But when I try to compile I am getting this error.

nRF5_SDK_17.1.0_ddde560\modules\nrfx\drivers\include\nrfx_power_clock.h(67): error: #35: #error directive: "This code is not supposed to be compiled when neither POWER nor CLOCK is enabled."
#error "This code is not supposed to be compiled when neither POWER nor CLOCK is enabled."

I looked in forum and online but couldn't find any appropriate solution. Can you help me with this issue?

  • Hi there,

nrfx_power_clock.c should only be included in the build if the POWER or CLOCK module has been enabled in the sdk_config.h file. Right click on the source file in the Project Items tab and chose " Exclude from Build".

    regards

    Jared

  • nrfx_power_clock.c library is not included in the build file. It seems to be that when compiling port_cmsis_systick.c the problem occurs. I tried removing that file but it didn't work without that library getting more errors.

  • Hi,

I suggest that you start over again from the example and try to build the project after each modification. That way, you could tell which modification that is causing the issue. It would be much easier to find the root cause this way then trying to find the culprit after you have applied a lot of modifications.

    regards

    Jared

  • I started over again and fixed the issue which I got before. But I am facing another issue

    ".\_build\nrf52840_xxaa.axf: Error: L6200E: Symbol RTC1_IRQHandler multiply defined (by port_cmsis_systick.o and drv_rtc.o)."

I am trying to use Freertos with libuarte async. I have already looked at a few of the solutions mentioned in the forum related to this issue. But I am not able to solve this issue.

    async define looks like this

    NRF_LIBUARTE_ASYNC_DEFINE(libuarte, 0, 0,0 , NRF_LIBUARTE_PERIPHERAL_NOT_USED, 255, 3);

I have attached the sdk_config file.

I have few questions related to this. Since libuarte and freertos both uses RTC. Do I need to configure freertos to use RTC2 and libuarte to use RTC1?. I also tried changing the RTC of freertos from RTC1 to RTC2 in the portmacro_cmsis.h header file but it didn't work. I tried to search about this to understand clearly. But I wasn't able to find an appropriate solution for my case. Can you redirect me to the correct explanation or sources to understand these things?
