Cannot open Kconfig and cannot debug

Hello, I encountered some issues with VS Code nRF environment. Kconfig will not open when clicked nor can I debug. When I try to debug it seems to be launching debug for a split second and then stops and throws error shown bellow. Not sure what happened.

• The code compiles with no issues.
• I tried to reinstalling VS Code as well as reinstalling NCS.
• I also flashed firmware via j-flash with no issues.
• Segger RTT seems to be working as well.

Maybe anybody encountered this and knows what caused it and how to fix it.

Hi,

We have received reports of this and are working on a solution. The recent update to the Cortex-Debug extension seems to cause this. At present, the workaround is to downgrade the Cortex-Debug extension to the previous version (v1.4.4).
