nRF52840 at 1.8V

Hello Devs,

I am testing an nRF52840, configured to operate to 1.8V using the DCDC converter. All pins are supposed to operate in a 0-1.8V range.

So my question is, for GPIOS used as input, can I apply 3.3V to them? or will it be against the absolute maximum rating is VDD+0.3V then triggering the ESD protection conduct?

In that case, do you recommend using a voltage translate?

Hello,

If you want to apply 3.3V to a gpio, you will have to change the Vdd to atleast 3V (as you know, the absolute maximum voltage of a gpio is VDD+0.3V), or use a level shifter to shift it down to 1.8V.
