NRF52840 DK USB connector J2 is broken

Hi,

I was working on nrf52840 DK and I left it a few weeks and came back to use it and I discovered that the whole USB connector (J2) got removed. Not sure if there are other pins on the board that I can use to interface with the PC or that's it for the board? With this current, I can still use it for something else? Thanks in advance

  • Hi Ehad,

You can still use the board however with the USB connector missing you cannot use the on board programmer or the on board TTL to UART interface.  However, the board can be  powered up using P21 with 3vdc.  If you have another development kit or J-Link programmer you can program the nRF52840 by connecting to the 10 pin Debug port located at P18.  you can also remove power from the on board programming chip by using the nRFonly switch.   At this point the Dev Kit is basically a big nRF52840 module.

    I hope this helped.
