Basic, new developer question re. nRF5340 Audio DK

Hi Devzone Members,

I'm brand new to Bluetooth development, and I wondered if someone would be kind enough to advise me?

Am I looking at the correct Nordic kit to begin developing the attached idea to this post?

My Auracast idea is to build an Auracast transmitter which can be scanned for and connected to via a mobile app. The app then passes the audio feed to the users' Bluetooth headphones.

Periodically, to configure the transmitter and firmware update a USB connection would be used?

Would I be correct to use the nRF5340 Audio DK to begin developing this idea? And if so, after development has been completed, I would then replicate the setup into a number of nRF5340 boards to begin transmitter production?

Again, I apologies for the very basic nature of this question!

Many thanks for your help!

Paul

  • Hi Kenneth,

Thank you very much for your helpful answers. I didn't realise that there was a developer walk-through for nRF Connect and nRF5340 DK, that's an important starting point for me.

One final question if I may? For every audio channel I wish to broadcast, I will need one nRF5340?

So, one transmitter equates to one Auracast audio broadcast, or can multiple Auracast audio broadcasts originated from one nRF5340?

Once again, a sincere thank you for your help on getting me started.

    Best wishes,

    Paul
