nRF91 Thingy asset tracker. GNSS only without the use of LTE-M or NB-IoT

Hi, my region does not support LTE-M or NB-IoT. I would like to prototype an asset tracker with GNSS only. To my understanding, i will be able to retrieve GNSS location data of my device from nRF Cloud  without any cellular connectivity on the nRF Thingy 91. Is this correct? If so, what impact will the GNSS only have on my asset tracking application?

In order to communicate with any server, you will need IP connectivity. This requires either LTE Cat M1 or NB-IoT coverage in your area.

Is there any way i can get around using LTE Cat M1 or NB-IoT?

If you do not have any LTE coverage in your area, you have one option:

You can obtain a callbox, for instance a R&S CMW500 with added LTE support. This acts as a bridge between your LAN and the nRF9160.

Other companies, like Amarisoft, provide similar services.
