Devkit USB Connector

Hello everyone.

I'm developing a custom board mounting the nRF5340, and I want to use the micro USB. I was looking at the schematic of the DK for reference, and I found that the USB connector has all these components

Is there a reason why? What do I miss if I use VBUS, D+, and D- straightforwardly?

Also, the SHIELD connection is for all the other NC pins that I have in my component, am I right?

The addiional components are there to combat ESD and EMV problems.

Typically "black magic" unless you know what you are doing.
