nRF51822: Is (Re)-certification needed?

Hello, guys! Wave

We have FCC/CE/UKCA/RCM/EAC certified board that contains nRF51822 SoC. We currently don't have a possibility to enable the internal DC/DC regulator of nRF51822 because we are missing two external inductors and one capacitor, as illustrated in the Figure below.

If we add those three passive parts, do we need to Re-certify our board again?

Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Sincerely,

Bojan.

  • You will probably need to test the design again. The DCDC converter can introduce noise on and around the carrier that needs to be tested. This is especially important for the FCC certification as the design can't be changed without doing a re-test to see if any parameters will change. Most probably, you will not see a great change in the spurious level, but measurements to check the difference is recommended.
