Hi,
What would be the best orientationg for data acquisition with the Thingy's 53 microphone? I see the plastic case has some slots.. Those up or down? Outwards or inwards?
Like.. do I try to point those slots towards the sound source?

Hi,
As you can see from the hardware drawings, U3 is the microphone and yes, it would be best to place it closer to the sound source.

Well, that really doesn't answer the question regarding the plastic enclosure.
You will see the MEMS mic has a sound inlet and this and the plastic enclsoure slots are facing opposite directions..
So what do you prioritize? The MEMS Mic sound inlet and sound going through the plastic or the plastic enclsoure slots but sound getting to the mic opposite to the sound inlet?
Im guessing the first and that the enclosure slots are for the environmental sensor mainly, but that's just a wild guess.
The slots on the plastic enclosure can also be closed, so it would always be better to orient according to the position of the microphone. Placing it closer to the sound source.
