nRF Cloud device provisioning

Hello!

Just wanted to clarify the process of provisioning custom devices on NRF9160 to nRF Cloud.

1. Creating JITP certificates (nRF Cloud -> Provision devices -> Create JITP Certificates;

2. Upload these certificates to modem(LTE Link monitor doesn't work with custom boards, so we need other way to do that);

3. Provision devices by .csv file, or Postman, or performing JITP;

If I have 100+ boards, should I do all these steps for each board or there is a faster way to do it?

Thank you,

Vadim

  • Hi Vadim,

    Yes, this is what we encourage customers to do when they need to update the certificates on their development kit or similar.

    This is too slow with the JITP process. Have a look at the process described under "Generating credentials for the nRF9160DK" in the nRF Cloud documentation.

    LTE Link monitor doesn't work with custom boards, so we need other way to do that

    Yes, it's more directed towards use of our nRF9160DK, but it basically uses the AT%KEYGEN command to provision the certificates.

    Have a look at the information above. I'm currently on the road, so I will get back to you on Monday to provide a better answer.

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind
